Angola: Handball/Can2020 - Angola Face Nigeria in Tournament Startup

Luanda: The Angolan senior men's national handball team begin this Thursday in Radès, Tunisia, their participation in the 24th edition of the African Championship (CAN2020) by facing Nigeria, with focus on trying to improve the third position of the previous edition.

The match, that is part of Group B, is set for 2pm in Omnisport pavillion, the same circuit in which two hours later Gabon national team will face Libya to close this serie debut round.

For the race, coach Nelson Catito has available Geovani Muachissengue and Custódio (goalkeepers); Gabriel Teka, Agnelo Kitongo e Jairoslav Aguiar (pivots); Manuel Nascimento, Romé Hebo e Edgar Abreu (fullbacks); Mário Tati, Feliciano Coveiro, Edvaldo Ferreira e Sérgio Lopes (wingers).

The squad include also the offensive pivots Adilson Maneco, Elsemar Pedro, Otoniel Pascoal and Cláudio Chicola.

The Handball CAN 24th edition takes place from 16 to 26 January, in Tunisia. The host team are the continental title holders, won in 2018 in Gabon.
