Nigeria: Suspected Kidnapper Killed As Police Rescue Mother, Child

Katsina — The police in Katsina State have killed a suspected kidnapper and rescued two victims after a shootout.

Spokesman of the police in the state Gambo Isah said operatives of the command in conjunction with military and repentant bandits yesterday raided kidnappers den at Gwarjo Forest, Matazu LGA of the state.

"After a fierce gun duel with the bandits, the operation succeeded in rescuing one Firdausi Yusuf, 30, of Burunkunza village, Kankara LGA of Katsina State and her seven-month old baby, Amin Yusuf, from her captors," he said.

He added that the suspected kidnapper that was gunned down was one Yunusa Boka, who had been terrorizing Danmusa and Kankara LGAs of the state.
