Nigeria: Telecom Mast - Vandals Arrested in Ogun

Abeokuta — The Police Command in Ogun State has confirmed the arrest of two members of a syndicate who allegedly specialise in vandalising Telecom mast in Ifo Local Government Area and its environs.

The suspects, Monsuru Bankole, 20 and Kehinde Bello, 48, were arrested following a distress call received by the Police in Ifo division.

It was reported that hoodlums numbering about ten had invaded an Airtel telecommunication mast at Abule Ogun area of the town and they attempted carting away the back-up batteries of the mast. A statement issued on Sunday by the Command Spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi said following receipt of the distress call, the DPO, Ifo division, CSP Adekunle Samson, quickly mobilized his anti-robbery team and moved to the scene.
