Liberia: Trump Extends Wind-Down Period for Liberians On DED

U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) has extended thanks to President Trump for having extended the "wind-down" period of Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) for qualified people from Liberia by several months to January 2021.

The Trump Administration announced Tuesday, March 30, that it would extend the window to ensure covered Liberians maintain their legal status. Extending the "wind down" period means potential beneficiaries of Senator Reed's Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act (LRIF) won't fall into a gap in lawful status and work authorization.
