South Africa: This Virtual Choir Will Take Your Breath Away

Ralf Schmitt is best known to South African audiences as the choirmaster of the world-famous Ndlovu Youth Choir. But what many don't know is that he is also choirmaster of Roedean School, a private day and boarding school for girls located in Parktown, Johannesburg.

Of course, as the country is currently on in the midst of 21-day lockdown, school isn't in session, in keeping with physical distancing measures, but that doesn't stop the choir from belting their hearts out in unison.Through a virtual performance, Ralf leads the young voices in a touching rendition of Leonard Cohen's noted classic, Hallelujah .

The video was uploaded last week and already has hundreds of thousands of views, with many praising it in the comments.
