Zambia: PMRC Calls for Training of Smallholder Farmers

The Policy Monitoring and Research Centre (PMRC) has urged Government to upscale field trainings among smallholders farmers to promote Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) adaptation.

PMRC executive director Bernadette Zulu said the Ministry of Agriculture needs to adequately package Zambia Meteorological Department's (ZMD) climate information and distribute to farmers across the country.

"The Ministry of Agriculture needs to package ZMD's information and distribute to those farmers that would be most affected by crop failure and narrow the communication gap between the ZMD and district authorities at different levels," Ms Zulu said in PMRC's latest policy brief.
