Nigeria: FCT FA Chairman Mouktar Mohammed Explains Why He Launched COVID-19 Website

10 April 2020

The Chairman of FCT Football Association, Adam Mouktar Mohammed has said his desire to help in containing the spread of the deadly coronavirus also called COVID-19 motivated him to set up a website. He said the web site is to create more awareness about the killer virus as well as support its victims.

Mouktar who gave the web address as https://coronahelp.ng/ said it would be for information dissemination and logistical support for victims of the virus.

He said considering the magnitude of pressure on governments in the fight against COVID-19, it is the duty of every well meaning Nigerian to lend a helping hand in any way possible.

"In times like this, it is important for us to carry out our civic responsibilities. We are faced with a deadly virus so we have to contribute to the fight to protect Nigerians.

"I came up with the idea of a website because we are fighting an invisible enemy and the internet is the most potent too to deploy especially in propagating useful information that can help in saving lives.

"The task is enormous so we cannot leave it to government and international agencies alone. It is indeed overwhelming," said Mohammed.
