Angola: COVID-19 - MPLA Hands Over Goods to Pandemic Response Commission

Malanje — A batch consisting of salt, bleach, mineral water, napkins, blue and powdered soap was delivered Monday, to the Provincial Technical Commission for Response to Covid-19 in Malanje, by the leadership of the MPLA Provincial Committee, to help the most disadvantaged people.

On the occasion, the provincial governor, Norberto dos Santos "Kwata Kanawa", as coordinator of the commission, thanked the MPLA party for its gesture and considered that the initiative will help to mitigate some needs of the population, during the State of Emergency, in force in the country since last March 27th.

Although some support from the business class has already been received, the government official urged people and other institutions to make their contribution, donating goods to help the vulnerable population living in municipalities, homes, orphanages, boarding schools and on the street.

While handing over the means, the second provincial secretary of the MPLA, Nelo de Carvalho, said that the party joins the Government in this huge effort to stop Covid-19, donating some goods that will help to mitigate the difficulties.

He stressed that the MPLA will continue to mobilize resources from its militants, to later be handed over to the Provincial Technical Commission.
