Zambia: Mass Screening for Nakonde

Reinforcement of technical staff is expected in Nakonde to trace the contacts of a couple that stayed in the border town for three days before testing positive to COVID-19 last week.

Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya announced the measure during yesterday's briefing when he also revealed that new cases had been confirmed; a 13-year-old girl and a 34-year-old man of Kafue.

Dr Chilufya said that the ministry was deploying technical staff to Nakonde to undertake mass screening and targeted testing of members of the public.

Dr Chilufya said so far all the immediate contacts of the Chingola couple had been tested.
