Zambia: Childfund Launches Social Cash Transfer for 6,000

CHILDFUND Zambia has launched a Social Cash Transfer (SCT) project to provide a monthly income to 6,000 vulnerable families country-wide.

CHILDFUND country director Simba Machingaidze said in an interview that the 6,000 families would each receive an amount of K300 per month to cushion them against the poverty levels caused by COVID-19.

Mr Machingaidze said the pandemic had suppressed economies and created disruption in people's daily lives.
