Zambia: Mopani Miners Back At Work - Union

National Union of Miners and Allied Workers (NUMAW) president James Chansa has confirmed that Mopani Copper Mine (MCM) employees who were recently sent home when the mining firm placed its Kitwe and Mufulira mining units on care and maintenance have started reporting for work.

Mr Chansa said the union was happy that the workers had started reporting but it was the union's prayer that the move must not be temporal.

In an interview yesterday, he said the employees had started reporting for work, amove that had cheered the union.
