Africa: Over 120,000 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases on the Continent

As of May 28, confirmed the COVID-19 case total from 55 African countries has reached 124,846.

Reported deaths in Africa have reached 3,700 and recoveries 51,074.

South Africa has the most reported cases – 25,937, with deaths numbering 552. Other most-affected countries include Egypt (19,666 cases), Algeria (8,697), Nigeria (8,857) and Morocco (7,601).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well national and regional public health departments.
