Nigeria: Bauchi FA Lauds Governor Mohammed's Unwavering Commitment to Sports Development

A Former international and Chairman of Bauchi State Football Association, Patrick Pascal has described Governor Bala Mohammed's one year in office as season of unquantifiable blessings for sports, especially football in the state.

On Friday, May 29, the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory clocked one year in office having been sworn in for his first tenure on May 29, 2019.

Speaking to Daily Trust, the Super Eagles Co-ordinator praised the governor for showing unflinching commitment to sports development in the state.

He said despite the challenges being faced by the whole world due to the deadly coronavirus, the governor has not used that as an excuse to ignore the important sector.

Pascal cited the recent donation of a brand new bus and two official cars to the state owned football club, Wikki Tourists as one of the contributions of the governor to sports.

He also said the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium which the governor renovated with millions of naira is undoubtedly among the best stadia in the country.

"The Executive Committee of the Bauchi State Football Association wishes to felicitate with His Excellency, Bala Mohammed on his one year in office.

"We are proud OF the numerous achievements he has recorded within one year, especially in the area of sports.

"He has provided the enabling environment for sports to thrive in the state. Despite limited resources, the governor has renovated the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium, making it one of the best in the country.

"And recently, he donated a brand new bus and two cars to Wikki Tourists FC. We are motivated by his kind gestures to take sports in Bauchi State to higher heights," he said.

Pascal, therefore, said with the governor's support, grassroots competitions like the Governor's Cup will be resuscitated for discovery of talents.
