The board has appointed Malam Nura Daura, the Executive Director, Finance and Investment, as Acting CEO.

A statement by the chairman of the board, Mallam Kabiru A. Yusuf, commended Dan-Ali for maintaining and deepening editorial excellence and integrity, as Editor-in-Chief for nearly a decade.

Dan-Ali was later appointed CEO in January 2016 and combined it with his earlier post thereby becoming CEO/Editor-in-Chief until early this year when Naziru Mikailu assumed duty as Editor-in-Chief.

He also worked on a freelance basis with the Hausa Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation in 1994.

Between August 1997 and February 2000, Dan-Ali worked for the BBC World Service at its Bush House Headquarters in London before relocating back to Nigeria where he set up the Abuja Bureau of the African Service.

He joined Media Trust Limited on October 15, 2007 as Editor-in-Chief and appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief on January 1, 2016.

The Acting CEO, Daura, a seasoned accountant, graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria with a B.Sc. Accounting in 1996.

He obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the same institution in 2007.

He started his professional career in 1997 at the New Nigeria Development Company Limited as Officer, Treasury Services.

He rose to the position of Senior Manager, Group Internal Auditor, before leaving the company in April 2010.

Daura joined the services of Media Trust Limited in May 2010 as Assistant General Manager, Internal Audit Department; and in October 2015, he was promoted to head the Finance Department of the company, saddled with formulating and ensuring adherence to company's financial policies as well as overseeing the company's budget, credit control, costing and profitability analysis.
