Huawei Northern Africa hosts Ecosystem Partner Summit 2020

Cairo, Egypt, June, 22 2020 - Hosted virtually for the first time, the recently concluded Huawei Northern Africa Ecosystem Online Partner Summit 2020 event—held under the theme of "Win Together"—provided leading organizations in Northern Africa Region with the chance to explore how new Huawei policies, promotions, and programs will enable partners to advance in the year ahead while supporting Northern African countries wider digital transformation agenda.

As part of its 2020 partners' channel strategy, the company reviewed four key initiatives around profitability, simplicity, enablement, and ecosystem, reinforcing partner confidence at a time when many are being challenged due to disruptions from COVID-19. During the event, Huawei also extended its performance awards for 2019 to many of its partners, celebrating the contributions they have made to building a more connected, intelligent Northern Africa. Huawei Northern Africa Ecosystem Partner Summit with the theme 'Win Together' brought together more than 2000 attendees representing Huawei's 100-strong partnerships in Northern Africa.

Opening the program was a speech from Mr. Michael Li, President of Huawei Northern Africa Enterprise Business Group. He expressed his gratitude to all the partners and Huawei's commitment to develop a partner ecosystem, characterized by openness, fair, transparent and stable to be able to achieve a win-win collaboration and improve market share. "Huawei appreciates your commitment over the years and sincerely look forward to your continuous support to grow the business together" said Mr. Michael Li.

Highlighted during the event Huawei's mechanism of Business Continuity Management, BCM, and how it is helping weather the storm; Mr Liuhongliang, Vice President of Northern Africa enterprise marketing and solution sales dept. Presented how Huawei has quickly followed its BCM policy and initiated a contingency plan to assist pandemic response. Huawei has responded to the requirements of global customers and partners, by safely resuming production, implementing online transactions, and ensuring customer delivery.

Huawei is also working with carriers to guarantee secure and stable network operations, as well as using innovative digital technology and applications to help fight the pandemic. Huawei also digitalized most of our business chain and completed the switch from offline to online in one day. 'With our BCM mechanism, Huawei was able to quickly send more than 100 engineers and worked with 10 local partners to deploy more than 1600 ICT devices in an area covering 34,000 square meters. We completed the network delivery for Huoshenshan Hospital in just three days. More importantly, not a single member of our team, including partners, was infected'. Said Mr. Leo

To achieve a win-win collaboration and business success also to learn how to Expand Business with Huawei new incentive programs, Mr. Frank Shen, Vice president of Huawei Global Partner Development Dept. of EBG and Mr, Jack Zhang, Vice president of Huawei Northern Africa Ecosystem Partnership Business Dept. laid down the Channel Business Overview and initiatives for 2020 which is guided by Huawei Partners Policy- Profitability, Simplicity, Enablement and Ecosystem. "Our partner ecosystem grew in number as well as quality which from 684 to 1044. And as the ecosystem grows, a lot of growth with it. Growth has been applied to incentives, where our incentives grew 14%, reaching 1.6 MILLION USD were distributed as incentives among our valued partners. Huawei is keen on its partners' benefits and is eager to see its partners grow more and more. At Huawei, We follow the "Win Together" slogan" said Frank Shen and Jack Zhang'.

Announced during the Summit are Business Goals for 2020, Huawei Ecosystem partnerships, Certification Requirements, and Channel incentives.

New innovative products and services were also announced during the Summit as follows:

• Huawei's AirEngine Wi-fi 6 products in the industry integrates Huawei's own innovative 5G and AI technologies. Ideally suited to build all-wireless high-quality networks for enterprise office, production and public service scenarios.

• Huawei OcensStor Dorado benefits from five built-in propriety Huawei intelligent chips to accelerate critical paths for transmission, compute, intelligence, storage and management.

Concluding the event, Huawei Northern Africa recognized the partners and their exemplary performance in 2019. Regional best sales partner award, given to STI Algeria – while country best partner award went to: CENTRA Technologies, AEBDM, M2i services, NETCOM technologies, ANHUI ANTAI Technology, Trans Sahara IT and Communication; Fastest Performance Growth Partners Award given to: Teletech, CSCEC, TMI, IMS Technology, LAMINO Engineering PLC.; Best Global Partner award to: SIEMENS, SAP, ATOS IT Services, Tech Mahindra; Best Distributor Partner support Award to: MANTRAC, MC3, SMART Tunisie, DISWAY, CNBM; Best consulting Partner Award to: PRESCIENCE, MALAM Engineering and Best Talent Partner to: Global Knowledge Training.

The event followed Huawei announcing a new partner development strategy for its enterprise business earlier this year, under which it will cooperate with partners globally in supporting digital transformation efforts. By the end of 2019, Huawei had more than 22,000 sales partners, 1,200 solution partners, 4,200 service partners, 1,000 talent alliance partners, and 80 investment and operation, and financing partners.

In its annual earnings report released last month, Huawei totally achieved 19.1% growth in total revenue making 107 BILLION EUR, regardless export and import problems and instabilities which Huawei was dragged into. The fact proved Huawei's capability. After such a hectic year, The Enterprise grew 8.6% and contributed 11 BILLION EUR; Enterprise business is one of the key drivers of the company's overall growth. Huawei thanked all partners worldwide who followed Huawei initiatives and were hand-in-hand with Huawei for the achieved success.
