South Africa: North West Legislature Hosts Virtual Youth Sectoral Parliament, 30 Jun

On the 30 June 2020, the North West Provincial Legislature will host virtual Youth Sectoral Parliament sitting under the theme: "Youth Power: Growing South Africa together in a period of Covid-19." The virtual event is scheduled to start at 10h00.

The Virtual Youth Parliament is conducted in line with the COVID-19 Regulations.

In South Africa, June is known as the youth month and the year 2020 marks the 44th Anniversary on the 16 June 1976 Soweto Uprising. It remains imperative for the North West Provincial Legislature to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by the generation of 1976 and to commemorate and recognise the immense contribution of young people towards the successful transition to a democratic South Africa.

The virtual Youth Sectoral Parliament will be live on NWPL Facebook page; Twitter page @NWPLegislature and in community radio stations. The youth is encouraged to participate by submitting their inputs and asking relevant questions through the North West Provincial Legislature Facebook page.
