Africa: COVID-19 Cases Across Continent Surpass 432,000

As of July 3, confirmed the COVID-19 case total from 55 African countries has reached 432,331.

Reported deaths in Africa have reached 10,644 and recoveries 207,130.

South Africa has the most reported cases – 168,061, with deaths numbering 2844. Other most-affected countries include Egypt (71,299 cases), Nigeria (27,110), Algeria (14,657), and Ghana (18,134).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well national and regional public health departments.
