"Climate business is simply and profoundly good business," Vice President Kevin Kariuki says in an interview leading to the 2020 Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank.
The head of the Power, Energy, Climate and Green Growth Complex says countries must stretch beyond climate policies and declarations and move towards climate action. Although countries face diverse challenges that are compounded by the Covid-19 outbreak and limited funding, VP Kariuki is emphatic about the need for countries to treat climate mitigation as a national priority.
He says the African Development Bank remains dedicated to its role as a knowledge center and financing partner to African nations. He further outlines the Bank's growing climate-smart portfolio.
