Angola: COVID-19 - Cazengo Municipality Locked Down

Luanda — Northern Cuanza Norte province's municipality of Cazengo will be locked down as from Thursday this week, on account of the covid-19 pandemic.

The information was released Tuesday evening in Luanda by the minister of State and head of the Civilian Affairs Office to the Presidency of the Republic, Adão de Almeida.

The official said the decision followed a meeting the Head of State João Lourenço had on Tuesday with members of the Multi-sectoral Commission for Combat and Prevention of Covid-19.

Cuanza Norte, more than 200 kilometres away, is the other province of the country that, apart from the capital Luanda, has reported positive cases of covid-19.

Angola's covid-19 records show 386 infections, 21 deaths, 117 recoveries and 248 active patients. Cazengo has reported nine positive cases.
