Tunisia: Defence Minister, Ambassador of Qatar Discuss Military Cooperation

Tunis/Tunisia — Defence Minister Imed Hazgui and ambassador of Qatar in Tunis Saad bin Nasser Al Humaidi discussed the development of military cooperation between the two counties at a meeting Thursday.

The Qatari ambassador emphasised his country's constant readiness to support Tunisia in various fields, while commending the strong relations between the two countries.

He praised the Tunisian experts working in Qatar and their contribution to achieving development and prosperity, the Defence Ministry said in a statement.

Minister Imed Hazgui highlighted the depth of Tunisian-Qatari relations, extending an invitation to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah to visit Tunisia.

The meeting also focused on key regional issues, including the security situation in Libya.

Both sides highlighted the need to accelerate the political and peaceful settlement of the Libyan crisis in order to restore security and stability to Libya and pave the way for the reconstruction process.
