Tunisia: Minister of Women Meets Oxfam-Tunisia Director, Discuss Cooperation

Tunis/Tunisia — The consolidation of cooperation between the Ministry of Women, Family, Child and the Elderly, particularly through the implementation of the project "Women's Voice and Leadership in Tunisia" was discussed at a meeting Thursday between Minister of Women, Family, Child and the Elderly Asma Shiri and the Oxfam-Tunisia Director Hela Gharbi.

The project "Voice and Leadership of Women in Tunisia", launched by Oxfam, with funding from the Canadian Ministry of Global Affairs, seeks to support organisations active in the field of women's and girls' rights and to encourage initiatives to protect them and support their rights during the COVID-19 crisis.

Shiri stressed the need to strengthen the Women's Department's commitment to this project, as part of the Ministry's orientation towards supporting economic initiative and women's leadership in various fields, in order to uphold the principle of equal gender opportunity.
