Africa: Covid-19 Cases Across Continent Surpass 788,000 Mark, With 16,715 Deaths

As of July 24, confirmed the Covid-19 case total from 55 African countries has reached 788,532.

Reported deaths in Africa have reached 16,715 and recoveries 446,429.

South Africa has the most reported cases – 408,052, with deaths numbering 6,093. Other most-affected countries include Egypt (90,413 cases), Nigeria (38,948), Algeria (25,484), and Ghana (29,672).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well national and regional public health departments.
