Tunisia: Date for Start of 2020/2021 School Year, Still Not Determined (Mohamed El Hamedi)

Tunis/Tunisia — The date for the start of the 2020/2021 school year is still not determined, Education Minister Mohamed el Hamedi said on Friday at a press conference.

He pointed out to TAP that his department is examining means to help resume courses in the best conditions, while taking into consideration the need to complete the programme of the 3rd quarter of the 2019/2020 school year.

Technical committees are currently mobilised to look at means to resume and complete the programme of the 3rdQ, following an interruption of courses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the minister added.

Consultations are on with the unions to set a suitable date for the forthcoming school year, he specified.
