Angola: Economy Minister Meets Journalists Association

Luanda — The Minister of Economy and Planning, Sérgio Santos, Sunday in Luanda, met with the executive board of the Association of Economic Journalists (AJECO), with whom he addressed issues related to strengthening the institutional partnership.

At the meeting, the parties stressed the need to draw up a memorandum of understanding for the training of journalists dealing with economic matters.

At the meeting, which was attended by the Chairperson of the General Assembly, António Bragança, the General Secretary, João Joaquim and the member of the executive board, Mateus Cavumbo, the interlocutors concluded that the creation of a digital platform for economic journalists was also necessary.

In order to encourage the class to exercise a more refined journalism, they also understood that the time had come to reactivate the "Economic Journalism Prize", an initiative sponsored by "Moagens Kianda".

AJECO was created on 12 August 1996, with the aim of encouraging and supporting the exercise of a journalism of excellence.
