Angola: Opposition Unita Leader Works in Bié

Cuito — The president of the main opposition party UNITA, Adalberto Costa Júnior, Sunday worked in the village of Lopitanga, municipality of Andulo (Bié), as part of a program to honor the founding leader of this party, Jonas Savimbi.

In Bié, since Saturday night for a 48-hour working visit, Adalberto Costa Júnior plans to give a press conference to the local media on Monday afternoon.

Upon arriving in Bié, the politician told the press that Covid-19 is a problem that should not stop the country's achievement, although he is of the opinion that "companies, employees and citizens should be protected and a crisis of great national scope should be avoided".

According to a note from the secretariat of that party's provincial committee in Bié, to which ANGOP had access, Adalberto Costa Júnior's visit takes place with the authorization of the Multi-sectoral Commission for the Prevention and Fight against Covid-19 and respects all the measures recommended by the WHO and the country's health authorities.
