Angola: Covid-19 - Commission Isolates Capeio

Cuito — The Provincial Commission to Combat Covid-19 announced Sunday the isolation of Capeio Village (Cunhinga), about 30 kilometres from Cuito, to trace on Monday the people who had contact with the first positive case of the pandemic in central Bié province.

The fact was released to the journalists by the commission's local coordinator, the provincial governor Pereira Alfredo, who went on Sunday with other members of the multi-sectoral team to Cunhinga municipality to assess closely the conditions and reality of the area.

Pereira Alfredo pointed out that the local anti-pandemic commission is now assessing the situation and seeing the most appropriate measures to deal with the situation, at a time when the male Covid-19 positive is in one of the local treatment centres.

He reaffirmed that it was an imported case from Luanda, which was already under the control of the local authorities, and therefore reiterated the call for calm to all citizens.
