Tanzania: Tsn to Sponsor 2020 Consumer Choice Awards

TANZANIA Standard Newspapers Limited (TSN) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lavine International Agency, over sponsorship of the Tanzania Consumer Choice Awards 2020 (TCCA), slated to take place in December this year.

The TSN Sales and Marketing Manager, Mr Januarius Maganga who represented the Acting TSN Managing Editor, Tuma Abdallah, said during the signing ceremony and launching of the competition in Dar es Salaam that the company's newspapers, namely Daily News and Habari Leo will be publishing the proceedings of the TCCA, starting with the listing of potential competitors.

"TSN is the oldest company in the media industry. It has about 90 years in the field; hence, all TCCA procedures will be smoothly and more professionally communicated to the public, in and outside Tanzania. It will be through our print media outputs as well as electronically (social media)," said Mr Maganga.

Asked on whether TSN products (newspapers) are among potential TCCA participants as it is the case with other media, the Acting Managing Editor responded that: "No... it won't be fair. We are already sponsors, and cannot be voted for as contestants."

Giving more explanation, the Agency's Managing Director, Ms Diana Laizer said that TCCA is in the place just to increase business competitions as it covers all types of businesses, be it small, medium or large scale entities.

TCCA also aims to increase productivity as well as services and products' quality because it is the public that will be voting for the best product.

"From this day of TCCA launching up to the end of the month, we will be receiving recommendations from potential participants from all over the country. The recommendations should be sent though either www.lavine.co.tz website or our Tanzania consumer choice award Instagram page," she said.

According to her, September is a month for shortlisting exercise of the proposed participants, and from October onwards, it will be a voting period, where the awarding event is set to take place on 6th December, in Dar es Salaam.
