Angola: Mep Controls Over 2,000 National Production Projects

Luanda — At least 2,749 projects are active in the database of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), representing 80% of the third stage of the process, the assembly phase of the credit file, the Secretary of State for Economy, Mário Caetano João, said Tuesday.

The projects are part of the National Producer Promotion of the Ministry of Economy and Planning.

Regarding the approved and disbursed programmes, during the past week, although there were no new programmes approved, 188 of them remained validated, of which 34 have been paid (five more than in the previous period).

The five disbursements valued at more than one billion kwanzas were made available by the Development Bank of Angola (BDA), as part of the economic relief measures.

Mário Caetano João, who was addressing the Ministry of Economy and Planning's weekly briefing, announced that some 75 billion kwanzas have been disbursed for 34 projects since 2019.
