Gambia: 2 Villages Clash, 3 Compounds Burnt As 20 Arrested

A serious clash that erupted on Tuesday 11 August between two neighbouring villages in the Naimina West District of the Central River Region (CRR) has left 20 people arrested and several others injured. At least three compounds from the other community (Fula) were reportedly set on fire; The Point has been reliably informed.

A source that spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the development to our reporter. According to our source, 11 people were arrested when the incident occurred. "They were briefly detained at Jareng Police Station. However, they were later referred to Bansang Police Station, the regional police command in CRR."
