Tunisia: Saied Promulgates Law On Exceptional Provisions for Recruitment in Public Sector

Tunis/Tunisia — President Kais Saied promulgated on Sunday the law on exceptional provisions for recruitment in the public sector which targets people who were unemployed for ten years, a source at the Presidency told TAP.

This House of People's Representatives (HPR) adopted on July 29 the bill on the exceptional provisions with 159 votes in favour and 15 abstentions.

Bill No. 27/2020, made up of 6 articles, provides for the direct hiring in the public sector of unemployed higher-education graduates who spent at least 10 years out of work and are registered at employment offices. People aged 35 but were not unemployed for ten years will also be among beneficiaries.

Hiring will be made over four years.
