Tunis/Tunisia — More domestic COVID-19 infections were reported over the weekend across the country.
Three women tested positive in Bousalem, Jendouba, out of 39 people who were in contact with a COVID-19 patient in Bousalem.
The three women will be taken Monday to a quarantine facility in Tunis, Local Health Director Mohamed Rouis told TAP.
In Kairouan, 2 domestic cases were reported after 221 tests were performed. This brings the overall number of infections in the region since late July to 74, including 4 imported.
A new package of preventive measures will be announced as of next week to contain the spread of the virus, said the Local Health Director. Eighteen patients were already transferred to the quaratine centre in Mahdia.
In Gabés, 41 tested positive out of 436. This includes 31 in El Hamma and 10 in Gabés, bringing the overall number of domestic infections in the region to over 100, Local Health Director Yahia Hamdi told TAP.
