Tunisia: Municipal By-Elections in Nabeul - Turnout Stands At 20 Percent in Korba

Tunis/Tunisia — The turnout in the municipal by-elections held Sunday in Korba stood at 20%.

Besides, the turnout rate of police and military personnel who casted their votes on Saturday stood at 10%, Coordinator of the Independent Regional Authority for the Elections (IRIE) in Nabeul 1 Chiraz Arfaoui told TAP, adding that no offences had been committed on the polling day.

The number of those registered stands at 32,023 spread over 22 centres and 65 polling stations.

Seven candidate lists, including 1 partisan (Ennahdha) and 6 independents (Sawtouna2, Ezdihar, Korba Fi Ainina, Amana and Tanmia) ran for the Korba 30-seat municipal council that had been dissolved last March after the resignation of 21 councillors.
