Angola: Covid-19 - Commission Provides Quick Tests

Mbanza Kongo — The director of the Zaire Provincial Health Office, João Miguel Paulo, said Tuesday that fast tests were made available for passengers wishing to travel to Luanda on Wednesday on TAAG Dash 8-40's new commercial aircraft.

On the reinaugural flight, which took place last Wednesday six months later, over 30 passengers from the city of Soyo, on the coast of Zaire province, were prevented from travelling due to lack of proof of serological testing from Covid-19, due to a shortage of stock in the municipality's public health units.

Two days later, the Ministry of Health made available to the Provincial Commission for Response to Covid-19 a batch of 1,500 rapid tests to reinforce testing capacity in the region.

The also spokesman for the Provincial Multi-sectoral Commission for Prevention and Combating Covid-19 explained that a health technical team will be deployed in Comandante Ndozi airport, in Soyo, to screen Luanda-bound passengers.
