The Ministry of Fisheries Water Resources and National Assembly Matters on Thursday 24 September, 2020 handed over fourteen (14) fishing vessels with outboard engines to 10 communities in The Gambia.
This initiative is geared towards addressing fish shortage, unemployment and to monitor illegal fishing along the coastal and inland areas in the country. The beneficiary communities include Barra, Banjul, Salikenni, Tankular, Sambuya, Bato Kunku, Jurunku among others.
