Angola: Covid-19 - General Education Teachers Undergoing Testing

Luanda — Three thousand teachers from general education in Luanda province are undergoing covid-19 testing from Wednesday.

With six days left to resume classes in the subsystems of secondary and higher education, the Ministry of Health decided to conduct rapid testing to assess the level of exposure of the Sars-Cov-2 virus in the teaching population.

Teachers have not been teaching since last March, due to the outbreak of the pandemic.

Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, announced so at the usual data update session on Tuesday, saying that the random testing will take place from 8:00 am at Luanda's Largo das Escolas, next to IMNE Marista.

Angola reported 108 new infections, 20 recovered patients and three deaths in the last 24 hours.
