Mona Quimbundo — The Lunda Sul Agrarian Technical Professional Institute was inaugurated this Friday, in the municipality of Mona Quimbundo, in Saurimo city, by the Minister of Education, Luisa Grilo.
The infrastructure built in 2017 includes 10 classrooms, one for computers and another for meetings, laboratories, library, technological workshop and slaughterhouse, medical post, administrative area, kitchen, cafeteria, community laundry and multipurpose field.
There are 114 students enrolled in the school, and the classes are to be taught by 26 teachers in the areas of forest resources, livestock, beekeeping, silviculture and agriculture auxiliary, from 7th to 9th grade.
Built in an area of 20 hectares, the project of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also houses a cowshed, an aviary, a water treatment plant, two blocks for wastewater treatment, space for agricultural practice, two generator groups, a three-bedroom house for the school director, six five-bedroom houses for boarding school students and houses for teachers and administrative employees.
