Angola: Governor of Uige Defends Teamwork

Uíge — The interim governor of Uíge, Maria Cavungo, this Monday called on public managers and collaborators to work as a team, with competence, and above all in respect for the law, with the aim of continuing the socio-economic programmes for fast growth of the province.

She listed, amongst other actions, fighting the covid-19 pandemic as a priority and said that the foundations had been laid for the government's public policy projects to continue.

The leader said it was necessary to increase public awareness and the availability of more biosafety material to prevent the disease from spreading in communities.

The vice-governor for the political, social and economic sectors also regretted the premature loss of former governor Sergio Luther Rescova, at a time when he was making great efforts to improve the living conditions of the local population.

Maria Cavungo was recently appointed to replace Catarina Pedro.
