The tenth Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which struck the eastern part of the country between 2018 and early 2020, went on to become the largest in the country's history. The eleventh outbreak, currently underway in Équateur province, in the country's west, looks quite different: it progresses at a slow pace, producing small clusters in isolated areas and a lower overall mortality rate.
