Tunis/Tunisia — The coronavirus claimed two more lives over the last 24 hours in Gabés, bringing fatality numbers in the region to 161.
Moreover, another 90 people tested positive for the virus after the results of 286 tests were returned, Coordinator of the vigilance unit at the local health directorate Houssine Jobrane told TAP.
The new positive cases were detected as follows: 30 in South Gabes, 19 in Gabés City, 10 in West Gabes, 9 in Mareth, 9 in El Hamma, 6 in Ghannouch, 6 in Métouia and one in Ouedhref.
The region saw 5,679 infections since the pandemic began, includin 1,029 active cases.
