10 January 2021

Osogbo — A 31-year-old man in Osun State, Tajudeen Monsuru, has confessed that he killed his girlfriend, Mutiyat Alani. for money ritual.

Speaking with Daily Trust on Sunday when he was paraded by the police, Monsuru said he strangulated the lady to death when she came to his house and cut her head for ritual so that he would be rich.

He said the relatives of the lady did not know that she visited his house and that no one suspected him when they were searching for her.

Monsuru said he sold the girl's phone at N2, 000, but the police tracked it and apprehended the buyer, who led them to arrest him.

When the girl was declared missing late last year, her parents reported the matter to the divisional police headquarters at Iwo.

The case was moved to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) at the police headquarters in Osogbo, the state capital for discreet investigation.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Wale Olokode, said the suspect was arrested through intelligence.

Olokode said the suspect also killed one Akinloye Ibrahim and many other victims for money ritual, adding that he would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
