South Africa: Two Men Nabbed for Transporting Liquor

The Zululand District Task Team conducted an operation on 30 January 2021 at 16:30, on the R66 near Mkhuze River.

During the operation, the team pulled over a vehicle with two occupants travelling along the R66. The vehicle was stopped and a search was conducted. Upon searching the vehicle it was discovered that the occupants were transporting liquor. The vehicle was traveling from Pongola and the liquor was destined to be delivered at Mashona and Mahlabathini.

Both suspects aged 33 and 35 were placed under arrest under the Disaster Management Act. They each paid a fine of R1000-00 and are expected to appear before the Magudu Magistrates' Court on 1 March 2021.
