Africa: Covid-19 Death Toll Exceeds 93,000 Across Continent

Cape Town — As of February 4, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 3,612,611 .

Reported deaths in Africa reached  93,073   and 3,113,686  people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases - 1,463,016  - and 45,344  people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco ( 473,047 ), Tunisia ( 212,679 ), Egypt ( 167,525 ), Ethiopia ( 139,408 ), and Nigeria ( 134,690).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well national and regional public health departments.
