Tanzania: Magufuli's Body Moved to Zanzibar This Morning

Tanzanians line the streets of Dar es Salaam to pay their last respects to President John Magufuli, who died in office.

At around 8:40 am, an Air Tanzania plane carrying the body of the late President Magufuli left Dodoma Airport to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar.

Zanzibar President Dr Hussein Mwinyi is expected to lead wananchi to pay their last respects to the fallen iconic leader Dr John Magufuli at Abeid Amani Karume Stadium.

Yesterday, Urban West Regional Commissioner, Indrissa Kitwana confirmed on Monday that preparations for receiving the body of the late President Magufuli were already completed.

"Preparations are ready and we are waiting to receive the coffin in Zanzibar to allow people to pay their last respects to their beloved Magufuli," the regional boss said.
