Tunisia: Sfax - 'Perenco' Oil Company Employees in Kerkennah On Strike

Tunis/Tunisia — The employees of the oil company "Perenco" at the Chargui field in Kerkennah (governorate of Sfax) are observing a three-day strike starting Monday, April 12, 2021.

According to the organisers, this strike, the second after two weeks, comes as a result of "the absence of the legal representatives of the administration at the conciliation meeting as well as the continuation of the policy of procrastination as regards the application of the previous agreements".

The company's employees are demanding "a better social climate and are calling for dialogue and the implementation of signed agreements, particularly those relating to salary increases and specific bonuses".

A strike had been observed for the same reasons by the company's agents on 28, 29 and 30 March, leading to a halt in production.
