South Africa: Four Suspects to Appear in Various Courts On Alleged Murder Charges

The police with assistance from community members managed to arrest four suspects on separate murder incidents which occurred in areas of Tseki and Tseseng Villages over the weekend.

Tseki: On Friday, 9 April 2021 the community summoned police to Chris Hani Park section whereby the body of a man identified as Molefi Tikgedi was found lying in a path walk between houses with an open wound behind the head and other injuries on his lips and bruises at the back. It is further alleged the deceased was last seen with a family member after a funeral planning meeting at Matebeleng Village. Through community assistance the Tseki police managed to trace and arrested the suspect (43) who was found with blood stained clothes at his house. He is appearing before Tseki Magistrates' court today facing charge of murder.

Tseseng Village: Police members traced and arrested three suspects this morning at about 04:00 following after community members provided crucial information on an alleged murder where two people were killed and other admitted to a local hospital after they were attacked at certain tavern at Thabanatsoana Village on Saturday, 10 April 2021 at about 23:30. Two charges of murder and one of attempted murder were opened. A tracing operation was conducted in the early hours of the morning which led to a number of people been taken in for questioning. After interrogation, two were released as they couldn't be linked to the cases and only three were positively linked. The three suspects aged 20, 21 and 22 from Makeneng-Madimong Village were detained and to be charged with two counts of murders and attempted murder. They are expected to appear before Tseseng Magistrates' court on Tuesday, 13 April 2021 on charges of double murder and attempted murder.

The police in both cases would like to thank the community for their positive response through quick information which led to arrest of all four suspects in separate cases.
