Tunisia: Mongi Rahoui Says His Physical Safety Is Under Threat

Tunis/Tunisia — MP and leader in the Party of the Unified Democratic Patriots (PPDU) Mongi Rahoui said, Wednesday, that he had been notified by the Interior Ministry that "he is facing serious threats to his physical safety".

"Once again, I was informed by security forces that I am facing serious threats against my physical safety after they received information about a terrorist group spotting my travels in Jendouba," Rahoui added.

The party leader pointed out that he will not be able to fulfill his commitments, particularly in the governorate of Jendouba, as he received instructions to limit his travels.

Rahoui called on the Public Prosecutor's office to respond swiftly to these serious threats and the Interior Ministry to assume responsibility in ensuring his protection.
