Nigeria: Gunmen Scale Palace Fence, Kidnap Ekiti Monarch

Ado Ekiti — Yet-to-be identified gunmen on Thursday evening stormed the Palace of Obadu of Ilemeso Ekiti in Ekiti State, Oba David Oyewumi, and whisked the monarch away to an unknown destination.

Ilemeso is one of the communities in Oye local government area of the State with a record of kidnappings in the last few months.

The gunmen, numbering about six, it was gathered, had scaled the fence of the the Oba's palace and shot sporadically to scare away the other occupants.
