Angola: Saurimo Vaccinates Over 4,000 People

Saurimo — At least 4,520 citizens of the municipality of Saurimo (Lunda Sul) received the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19, from the 12th to the 18th of the current month, said today, Monday, the deputy coordinator of the commission for rapid response to pandemic, Viegas de Almeida.

Speaking about the campaign taking place in the province, Viegas Almeida said that despite the low adherence of health technicians, the number of people already vaccinated was satisfactory.

He said that as a way of persuading the technicians, the Provincial Health Office on Friday issued a circular guiding health units to determine that those who were not immunised could not access health institutions.

Viegas de Almeida said that 415 primary school teachers had started being vaccinated against Covid-19, and he called on them to be vaccinated without fear.

He added that the vaccination in the main municipality (Saurimo) is in the final stage. It is planned for Wednesday, 21, the vaccination of 300 people in the municipality of Cacolo
