West Africa Takaful Insurance on Thursday donated a multi-purpose photocopier to Sanchaba Sulay Jobe Basic School as part of the company's corporate social responsibility.
The donation of the multipurpose machine is to enhance the performance in the management of the school.
Momodou Musa Joof, managing director at West Takaful Insurance said the gesture is the first of its kind to the school while assuring them of his company's continued support.
The gesture he said, is motivated by the principles of caring (highly encouraged in Islam), and their desire as a corporate institution to contribute to the development of education.
"It is our firm belief that for any nation to prosper, its citizen needs to be well educated," Mr. Joof said.
"These kind of gestures as part of our corporate social responsibility and will be extended to other needy schools and institutions in future," he added.
'The system of Islamic insurance is the concept of Takaful which simply means joint guarantee,' he also said.
