North Africa: WWF North Africa and AAO Urge Protecting Species From Illegal Fishing

Tunis/Tunisia — The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) North Africa and the organisation "Les Amis des Oiseaux" (AAO / BirdLife in Tunisia), on Wednesday, called on the Tunisian authorities to address the breach of national laws and Tunisia's international commitments in protecting certain species from illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

A dozen guitarfish and grey reef sharks were noticed on Sunday April 18, landed in the port of Zarzis, the two NGOs said in a joint statement.
